Request for quotation of Temperature, salinity and oxygen concentrations sensors – LandSeaLot project (CUP: B53C24000400006)
Publication day: 9 Jan 2025
Description of the item(s)
General description of the item(s):
2 sensors that can be lowered from a ship, observing temperature, salinity and oxygen concentrations. We would like to use the sensor to observe day-night fluctuations in oxygen concentrations in shallow waters, near tidal flats. The sensor will be used for several days in a row but will not be mounted on a buoy. One of the sensors will be used by sailors as ships of opportunity. The other will be mounted to a pier next to ‘high-cost sensors’for validation purposes. Along with the oxygen concentrations it would be nice to have salinity and temperature observations as well, but these can optionally also be observed with cheaper sensors, if these can be sufficiently accurate.
No. of items:
No 2 sensors that can observe temperature, salinity and oxygen concentrations
Technical features and specifications of the item:
The sensor should be lowered from a recreational sailing boat, so it shoud not be light and small enough to be carried in one hand. It will be used in a Wadden Sea lagoon, which is very eutrophicated, turbid and shallow. Therefore a wiper would be required to prevent fouling. Oxygen fluctiuations will be observed as proxy for (partly benthic) primary productivity in shallow areas. The resolution should be sufficient to estimate the day-night fluctuations in oxygen, so less than approximately 5 mole precision.

Parameters ranges:
• Salinity: 0-35 psu
• Depth: down to 100m at least
• Oxygen: preferably in ml/L or µmol/L but not mandatory
The sonde should be able to store data and to transmit near real time data via a transmission module.
The sonde should include the Modbus connection.
The time resolution should be flexible and allow profile measurements.
Minimum precisions required for each parameter

Request for quotation of Low-cost hyperspectral radiometric sensing solution – LandSeaLot project (CUP: B53C24000400006)
Publication day: 15/05/2025
Description of the item(s)
Parameters to be measured by the technology
Low-cost hyperspectral radiometric sensing solution, low-cost to be interpreted as having a capital expense per unit of €100 or less. Reliance on widely available existing technology may be excluded from this cost to be considered low-cost, as long as the solution is removable.
The solution must provide cost-efficient manual spectral radiometric measurements, following the same physical collection principles as remote sensing reflectance from reference in situ instruments or satellites
The pre-calibrated systems must be readily deployable without additional
No. of items
83 units, of which 3 presented as pre-calibrated ‘ready for use’ systems
Technical features and specifications of the item
Radiometric measurements must hyper-spectrally resolve radiance over the visible spectral range, i.e. from400nm to 700nm, or a wider range as the detector technology supports. It must be sufficiently sensitive toc ollect aquatic remote sensing reflectance in estuaries and coastal seas. The sensor must be small, self-contained, and provided with all required software and instructions.
The technology used to record hyperspectral radiance must do so instantaneously for the whole light spectrum, for example using a prism or grating filter.
The technology must be of a sufficiently small size and weight to be considered portable, e.g. < 100 grams and < 10 cm in the longest dimension.
Minimum precisions required for each parameter
Hyperspectral: order of max 10nm at full-width half maximum, with a separation of max 10nm, ideally 3 nm or better.
How and possibly where the device is planned to be deployed
The device will be used onboard ships, or from piers, without access to main power so the full sensor kit must be self-contained.
Device’s need to be deployed on its own for some time without supervision
Always supervised (manual measurements)
Device’s need to have installation support
Installation support should not be required. Operation should be intuitive following minimal training.
Required data transmission mode
The sensor must be able to take a measurement triggered by the operator. As it is a manual measurement, there is no need for specifying real time or delayed mode, although there is an expectation that any data processing would be available at no additional cost.
Device’s need to be general public user friendly
Yes, following initial training.
