LANDSEALOT
INTEGRATION WEEK 2026

The second LandSeaLot Integration Week will take place in Stirling, Scotland between 2-5 March 2026. It will bring together the LandSeaLot Consortium, members of the Research Infrastructure community, and representatives of the LandSeaLot Science Committee, Co-designer Forum, Citizen Science Hub and the European Space Agency to discuss the latest developments in our shared mission to advance observations of the land-sea interface area.

Recognising the value of the land-sea interface area for protecting biodiversity and strengthening climate resilience in coastal regions, LandSeaLot partners are working to achieve a Common Observation Strategy that will integrate and enhance existing observation efforts including in-situ, satellite, modelling, and citizen science. The integration Week 2026 will see partners and stakeholders share updates and opportunities, and plan next steps. The week will also include a site visit to the local LandSeaLot Integration Lab at the Firth of Forth, one of nine testing sites across Europe in which partners are piloting new methods, technologies, and community-based observation approaches.

LOCATION

University of Stirling

University of Stirling, Stirling, FK9 4LA, Scotland

Stirling is a small city located in central Scotland and is a short train or bus ride (<1hr) from the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. The closest airports are Glasgow International Airport (GLA) and Edinburgh Airport (EDI). Both are accessible with public transport. The University of Stirling campus is a 5-minute bus from the train station (40-minute walk).  The campus is located at the base of the famous Ochil Hills, the source of drinking water enjoyed around the world, and has been voted one of the most beautiful universities in the United Kingdom. In addition to exploring the campus, it is also possible to commence several nice walks from the campus, including the Dumyat Hill and Coxburn Reservoir. The weather in Scotland can be unpredictable, even during summer, and therefore you can expect beautiful sunshine, wind and rain. To check before arrival see the Met Office forecast. If you are travelling from a warm country, it is suggested that you bring a jumper and a raincoat.
