Marine Citizen Science Data Network launched at the landmark workshop organised by CS-MACH1
LandSeaLot representatives were excited to attend a workshop formally launching the Marine Citizen Science Data Network (MCSDN), which took place February 3-4 2026 in Ostend, Belgium and online. The workshop was organised through CS-MACH1, an EU-funded project working to create a robust marine citizen science data network to accelerate collaboration and data flow among stakeholders including researchers, citizen science project managers, cost-effective sensor developers and data managers.
CS-MACH1 and LandSeaLot are collaborating closely on common issues relating citizen science and data management and sharing. The establishment of the Marine Citizen Data Network will strengthen the impact of both projects, including LandSeaLot’s goal to scale up and streamline data collection – including the efforts of citizen scientists – at the land-sea interface.
