With over 25 years’ experience in the boating industry, Melanie Symes represents TransEurope Marinas, an established association of 80 marinas across 12 European countries. The network serves to facilitate recreational boating and promote good practice. Participation in LandSeaLot is particularly interesting for members seeking to contribute to marine stewardship and ocean literacy objectives via engagement with local stakeholders, whilst also developing a better understanding of data management. As community hubs spanning the land-sea interface, marinas offer a stable and interconnected platform for coordinating and hosting coastal observation actions.
