Antonio Novellino, Research Manager at ETT, with a PhD in Biotechnology and Bioengineering and a MSc in Biomedical Engineering, works in the development of innovative information systems and devices for environmental and welfare assessment at national and European level. He represents ETT at regional and national innovation tables and has been coordinating European data management projects for environmental data monitoring: EMODnet Physics, EMODnet Chemistry, EMODnet Data Ingestion, JERICO-NEXT and AtlantOS projects.
In LandSeaLot, he is involved in Work Package 4 “Increasing the observation capacity” by assisting with the identification of cost-effective sensors and creating a dedicated procedure for their acquisition. Additionally, he contributes to Work Package 6 “Data Management and services” by managing data to ensure it and its metadata adheres to FAIR principles and is harmonized through the application of standards. He ensures that the sensors are compatible and interoperable with LandSeaLot’s data management infrastructure and with other external systems like EMODnet, Copernicus, and SeaDataNet.
