Anouk Blauw

WP5 | Scientific Coordinator, WSRE LIL Co-lead | Deltares

Anouk is an expert in ecosystem analysis, monitoring and modelling at Deltares. She studies marine phytoplankton and their impact on nutrient and carbon cycling combining data analysis and numerical modelling. She is involved as eutrophication expert in OSPAR and has worked at the science policy interface to strengthen the scientific basis for eutrophication policy implementation, for example through the EU research projects JMP-EUNOSAT and NAPSEA. For her PhD thesis at the University of Amsterdam she analysed phytoplankton dynamics in the North Sea, using sensor data from buoys. She has been involved in various national and European projects (for example Jerico projects) developing marine monitoring strategies using sensor data, including satellite data, for ecosystem analysis, assessment and modelling.

In LandSeaLot, Anouk is part of the coordination team at Deltares, focusing on the scientific integration and outcomes. She is also co-lead of the LandSeaLot Integration Lab for the Wadden Sea, Rhine and Elbe area. This includes the supervision of a PhD student on nutrient and carbon cycles in the Wadden Sea, combining modelling, in-situ data, satellite data and citizen science data. In WP5, she coordinates the thematic group on nutrients, promoting the integration and collaboration between LILs working on nutrients and phytoplankton and their collaboration with the other WPs.
